1:1 or group tuition: which does your child need?

Both work, for different children. A simple way to decide between one to one tuition and small group sessions.

Parents often feel they should go straight for one to one. Sometimes that's right. Sometimes a small group is actually better. Here's how we help families decide.

1:1 tends to suit children who

  • Have specific gaps to close quickly, perhaps before an exam.
  • Feel shy or anxious answering in front of others.
  • Are working well ahead of their year group.
  • Need lessons at times that fit a busy family week.

Small groups tend to suit children who

  • Are broadly on track and want steady, regular practice.
  • Learn by talking things through with others.
  • Enjoy a bit of friendly competition.

You can mix both

Many of our families do. A weekend booster group for regular practice, plus a few 1:1 sessions before mocks. If you're not sure, message us. We'll ask a few questions about your child and tell you what we'd do.

Want to talk it through?

Book a free, no-pressure call. We'll listen, ask about your child, and tell you honestly what we'd suggest.
